The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office recognizes that our role in criminal prosecution does not begin and end at trial. Our work in crime prevention is just as important as the work we do in the courtroom. Through our partnerships with other law enforcement agencies, schools and community interest groups we seek to engage all citizens of Montgomery County in public safety efforts.
In coordinating these efforts, our office seeks to engage in problem solving with community stakeholders, whether they are private citizens, advocacy groups, or other government agencies and we are evaluating our efforts and continuously adapting to the needs of the community.
Prosecutors in the District Attorney’s Office take an active role in the community through volunteerism. You will see prosecutors serving on boards, attending community meetings, planning events focused on crime prevention, and educating the community on a variety of topics through our training efforts.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is here to serve as a resource to law enforcement and to you and your organizations. If you are interested in having our office speak with one of your groups please contact us and ask for our Community Development and Training Coordinator.
In addition, we take an active role in the Texas Legislature to ensure that laws affecting criminal justice reflect the needs of the community. Each session, our presence at the Texas Legislature seeks to ensure that our prosecutors are prepared to adapt to any changes in criminal law and are provided the resources to be successful in the continued prosecution of criminal activity and pursuit of justice.
Our trainings/presentations include, but are not limited to, the following subject matters:
Community Development & Training events are often held in the D.A. Training Room. This training room was developed in partnership with the Montgomery County Crimes Stoppers and is used for law enforcement training and many other events.
