Helping Victims
Victim Assistance Coordinators
Standing With You Every Step of the Way
Our Victim Assistance Coordinators provide specialized support to victims of misdemeanor and felony crimes, guiding them through every stage of the court process. From the moment a case begins, they offer information, resources, and referrals to trusted service agencies in our community — helping victims navigate the difficult aftermath of a crime.
Under Chapter 56 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, victims of crime are guaranteed specific rights. Our Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring those rights are upheld, respected, and protected.
Working side-by-side with our prosecutors, Victim Assistance Coordinators:
Educate victims on the judicial process and procedures
Provide courtroom accompaniment for hearings and trials
Keep victims informed on case status and court proceedings
Assist with preparing for trial and understanding what to expect
You didn’t choose to be pulled into the criminal justice process — but you don’t have to go through it alone. Our Victim Assistance Coordinators are here to listen, guide, and stand with you every step of the way.
